Thanks go out to San Antonio Northeast Rotarians Russell Sturgeon, Trina Forcey, Dan Hernandez, and Dan Clark, for volunteering at the San Antonio and South Texas Chapter office of the Alzheimer’s Association on Wednesday, August 23rd. They called folks that have participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in the past to remind them that this year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 21st at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. We would like to thank Anna Schragin, Manager of this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, for her hospitality.
The Madison High School Interact Club held their first meeting of the new school year on Monday, August 28th. From the photo, it looks like it is going to be a great year for the Interact club. Club sponsor Mrs. Janeen Downen said that this photo does not even include everyone that was in attendance. Thanks go out to Youth Service Chair Austin Riley for representing the San Antonio Northeast Rotary Club. The Madison Interact Club meets every other Monday at 4:30 p.m.
We had 12 teams of bowlers come out for the San Antonio Northeast Rotary Club’s 13th Annual Bowling fundraiser. In addition to the bowling fundraiser, we also held a silent auction and a raffle. The funds raised from this event go towards awarding a scholarship to a graduating senior from Madison High School, and also towards supporting the Madison Interact Club’s Food Pantry.
In addition, funds raised also go to sponsoring two students to attend
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) in January 2024.

Thanks to all the folks that came out. With everyone's help and participation, we raised $3,516.51

Plans are already being made for the 14th Annual Halloween Bowling fundraiser to be held in October 2024.

San Antonio Northeast Rotarians enjoyed the club's Christmas party on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the home of Dan and Jossi Clark.
Through the generosity of the South Texas Diaper Bank, the San Antonio Northeast Rotary Club was able to provide 250 pairs of socks toward Rotary District 5840’s Sock Drive. These socks will be used in health kits to be assembled at Rotary Lonestar P.E.T.S. District Governor-Elect Kristen Salazar accepted the socks at our meeting from San Antonio Northeast Rotary Club President-Elect Russell Sturgeon.
